James Park

I am preparing Ph.D. applications focused on U.S.–Japan–Korea trilateral relations, digital sovereignty and digital security, and the geopolitical implications of the Bering Strait and northern shipping routes. I am especially interested in how changes in these routes could affect U.S.–Russia dynamics and the positions of Korea, Japan, and China.

I graduated from Korea University’s Graduate School of International Studies with an M.A. in International Development and Cooperation in August 2025. I also hold a B.A. from Waseda University’s School of International Liberal Studies. My academic background brings development policy and multilateral cooperation into my study of international relations and security.

From March to December 2025, I was a Program Officer at Human Asia, coordinating nonprofit education programs and internships. Earlier, I was a Bilingual General Affairs Specialist at Samsung Electronics Home Appliance in South Carolina, managing vendors, budgets, and support for international leadership.
